Join us for your vacation on a four day photography oriented trip by horseback to Sportsman’s Lake in Yellowstone National Park.  The beauty of this high mountain lake is astounding.  Resting below the majestic, Electric Peak, this small lake has a historic Ranger Cabin, destroyed by the catastrophic Yellowstone Forest Fires of 1988.  The cabin has since been beautifully rebuilt and is nestle in its beautiful backcountry setting.

We will ride six miles into our first camp on Fan Creek where we will for two nights.  Here the moose, elk, and wolves have been know to frequent the area as well as the occasional grizzly.  The wild flowers, the sparkling creek, and majestic forest all present the perfect subject matter for capturing that perfect backcountry photograph.  The night canl be spent telling stories around the fire or maybe a song or two on the guitar, or break out the cameras for some amazing shots of the stars and night sky in this place where there is no ldiffused ight polution.

The second day we'll ride seven miles to Sportsman's Lake where stay the remainder of the time. Guests photgraph the mountain lake, choose to focus on the mighty Electric Peak, watch for wildlife, macro phtograph the flowers our do a black and white study of the ranger cabin and outbuildings.  (There is a great old outhouse dying to be immortalized on fim or digital.)

Wildlife is always plentiful in this area. Sportsman’s Lake is often home to moose which come out in the early morning or late evening to feed around the lake. Wolves, bears, mule deer, and elk are seen in this area as well. 

The last day we'll ride twelve miles down another trail to take us back out to civilization.  The riding and the views are spectacular.
